About Us
Gourmet Garlic and Scapes is a small family business founded in 2015 by an aunt and niece who share the same entrepreneurial spirit and love of garlic. Lori Hughes and Deanna Hillman (L&D), along with our 80 year old “Grampy" , Peter Hughes all work together to till, plant, weed, and harvest the most beautiful and delicious organic hardneck garlic and scapes. Last year our Aunt Donna Dowd has joined the team.
Our Dream
Our dream started with several garlic varieties along with confiscating Grampy’s entire backyard garden. Over the last few years we have grown considerably to a new permanent home with land in Frankfort, NY. We have 14 varieties.
Passion for Garlic
We enjoy educating anyone (who will listen) on the differences between hardneck and softneck garlic and the wide variety of heat and flavors. We developed an educational tool that helps new and old connoisseurs differentiate the variety of flavors.
